Gordon Price Diefenbach is the Founding Member of the Diefenbach, PLLC law firm.
Concentrating in civil litigation since 1986, he focuses on
representing plaintiffs who sue on claims for medical malpractice,
construction accidents, fetal and birth injuries and other large jury
verdict cases.
A graduate of Cornell University, B.A. in 1983, he then obtained his J.D.
from the University of Buffalo Faculty of Law & Jurisprudence in
1986. He is admitted to practice law in all of the Courts
of New York, United States District Courts for the Southern and
Eastern Districts of New York, Court of Appeals for the Second
Circuit , and in 1999 was admitted to argue cases before
the United States Supreme Court.00005147
With close to 25 years of courtroom battles as a trial lawyer, Mr. Diefenbach has actively
litigated hundreds of cases, mostly in New York, as well as New Jersey
and Connecticut. In his long career as a trial lawyer, he has made
literally thousands of court appearances in the fields of medical
malpractice, personal injury, wrongful death, construction accidents,
birth injury and fetal trauma cases, spinal cord injuries and other traumatic and catastrophic
injury cases.
In 1989 he was one of the junior associates who defended New York
Hospital-Cornell Medical Center against the Andy Warhol estate, which had sued the hospital for the medical malpractice
and wrongful death of Andy Warhol during a routine gallbladder surgery at that hospital.
In 2003, on another major case, he was hired to do
extensive research and appellate practice for a trial lawyer who had
successfully obtained a $55 million verdict against the insurer Lloyd's of London.
In 2004 he was hired by a trial attorney who successfuly sued the City of New York in a police brutality case, where the latter obtained a jury verdict of $ 50 Million.
Mr. Diefenbach's knowledge of trial tactics and litigation includes complex
civil litigation and appeals in both Federal Courts and New York
State Courts. He has significant appellate practice experience as
well. Before establishing the Diefenbach PLLC law firm, he was routinely hired to do other law firm's trials because of his significant and proven track record. He has been associated with top New York trial lawyers handling malpractice cases that
go to trial.
His extensive courtroom experience has taught him to be tireless and
unrelenting at trial. He is a tenacious advocate for his clients, with a deep
commitment to obtaining the absolute highest possible compensation for them. During trial, he is known to roll with the punches, to think outside the box, and never loses sight of what he sees most trial lawyers forget during a trial: the jury's common sense. As one client stated,
"He shows nothing but passion in front of a jury, and knows when to have the levity of a dove or the tenacity of a barracuda, that's instinct, they don't teach you that in law school."
He is a member of the Federal Bar Association, the Federal Bar Council, the New York County Lawyers' Association, the Brooklyn Bar Association, the Internet Society, and has been a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of
New York (ABCNY). In 1998 he was nomitated to become a member of the ABCNY's Committee on Central and Eastern
European Affairs.
The New York Post, as well as CNN-Atlanta, and the Brazilian national
television have asked him to give his legal opinion on legal issues in the news or to
appear on televison.
