History
What sets Diefenbach, PLLC apart is its unique history and educational credentials. Ivy League educated lawyers such as Gordon Diefenbach (Cornell) and Angelo Kramvis (Columbia Law School) more often than not represent the other side: the big corporations, multi-billion dollar pharmaceutical companies --Big Pharma-- and insurance companies, large-asset landlords and huge construction companies. We represent you.
And you would not be able to afford us if New York law did not allow us to work for you without any cost to you during the pendency of your claim in Court, and only take our fee of 1/3 of the compensation we recover for you. This means you pay nothing to us, ever, unless we win the case at trial or settle it before trial. And we used to work on 'the other side': 25 years ago, upon graduating law school, Gordon Diefenbach worked at a leading medical malpractice defense law firm, Martin, Clearwater & Bell, defending doctors, hospitals and drug companies. We now bring that experience to you. We know how they defend the cases we bring against them. We are not in the business of targeting doctors, hospitals or Big Pharma as defendants because it's a lottery ticket. We do it for you. Most plaintiffs' lawyers do not have the experience of having been on the other side of the fence. We do. On most cases, therefore, the defense firms and insurance companies know us.
Our firm is committed to the principle
that practicing this type of law-- representing aggrieved individuals as plaintiffs
against often powerful corporations and multi-billion dollar insurance
companies with their army of lawyers-- is not just a business. It is a public service and our profession.
We are trial lawyers with over 50 years of combined experience and select only cases we believe have large settlement value or jury verdict potential. We strive mightily to
balance the odds to give our clients top representation. In that regard, we retain
the brightest lawyers from the top 10 law schools. Few plaintiffs'
firms have that balance of trial experience and Ivy League credentials.
Our firm is dedicated
to representing the seriously injured and we have never, to date, settled a case for
under $100,000.00. The Diefenbach firm's goal is to aggressively negotiate fair compensation for our clients with the insurance companies, and if they offer compensation below value, we will not hesitate to take a case to trial. Founder Gordon Price Diefenbach has cultivated a network of highly qualified
medical doctors to assist in the evaluation, management and prosecution of the firm's
cases.
Finally, we were one of the first New York plaintiffs' medical and injury law firms to be at the forefront of using computer
and IT technology in order to maximize settlements and jury verdicts. Today the
firm continues this trend. The firm's offices are in the city's "hottest wired"
building in the world-class New York Information Technology Center
(www.55broad.com) one block from Wall Street.
